In an interview for W Magazine, Keke Palmer announced to the world that her favorite Taylor Swift song is “Our Song” from Taylor Swift’s debut self-titled album. Not only did the clip of her singing the song remind me of how multi-talented Keke Palmer is, and how much I love her in general, but it also got me into a Taylor swift country mood. So, here is my ranking of the best Taylor Swift country songs of all time

10. “You Belong With Me”
“You Belong With Me” may be her most iconic country song of all. This was the third single from Fearless, and it is the only song from this album on my list. Equally as iconic as the song is the music video. The music video transports you back to a time in history where these kinds of cute, teen stories of a low-key girl trying to win over a jock or popular guy were everywhere. Anyway, this song had my closeted, young self jamming in his bedroom, thinking about the guy at school that flirted with him, but then held hands with Becky that had braces while walking to class.
9. “Treacherous”
At number nine, I put “Treacherous” from Red. This simple song is undeniably pretty. I used to listen to this song in my backyard while I was lying underneath a tree, staring at the sky through the gaps in the leaves. The song reminds us how romantic the vulnerability of love can really be.
8. “Mean”
Next up, the third single from Speak Now, this song was the original F-U to all TSwizzle’s haters. “Mean” is a great, up-beat song to mentally fight off the haters and criticizers. It teaches a valuable lesson that simply allowing miserable people to be just that and pivoting around all their hate by moving on your own in a positive and successful way, will shine their dark light very clearly to the world. All they will end up being is mean, wrapped up in all of their negative thoughts and ways.
7. “Enchanted”
This song is purely amazing and even better live. Another track from Speak Now, it makes me want to experience young love again. It also makes me want to be Cinderella? Is this a feeling others are getting too?
6. “Teardrops On My Guitar”
At number six is the second single from Taylor’s debut self-titled album. We all had a Drew that broke our heart in high school science lab. It describes the pain of watching a crush want someone else, as they simultaneously do not have a clue that they are being utterly simped over by the person sitting next to them in science lab. are This song is very addicting, and it is an ultimate country earworm.
5. “Back To December”
The second single and the last song on my list from Speak Now, “Back To December” is a heart-tugger. As the seasons pass, Swift describes how her love evolves from happiness to heartbreak. Her nostalgia and leftover-longing takes her back to the time of the break, and it motivates her to take one last shot at someone she loves.
4. “Red”
From her album of the same name, the fifth single is a bop. There is just no other word for it. Love can be so fiery and passionate. Just like Taylor Swift and the guitar sounds in this song. And like the color red.
3. “Tim McGraw”
This was the first song that Taylor ever released and was included on her debut album. At her latest “Eras Tour,” it was her first surprise song of the tour. It still holds a great deal of significance. The song describes a summer fling that was magical and full of everlasting memories, although the love did not go anywhere beyond that snow globe. Or sun globe if you will. These types of love are often so passionate and distinct, but also so quick that they often feel like dreams in retrospect.
2. “Begin Again”
“Begin Again” is one of the most beautiful songs by her and by anyone ever. That is a very bold statement, but I write it with bold intentions. The second single from Red highlights the significance of learning to let past loves go to move on and create new chapters. A capturing line from this song goes, “I think it’s strange how you think I’m funny ‘cause he never did.” The song motivates me to find a quaint village in autumn this year and walk around with a coffee in my mind while I people watch and smile along to this song. “But on a Wednesday in a café, I watched it begin again.”
1. “All Too Well”
Number one needs no introduction. This fan favorite, five-and-a-half-minute Red track is a story. The way that Taylor paints the imagery, the emotion, and the themes of the story are so powerful and overwhelming. It is a cathartic experience listening to “All Too Well” every single time. Additionally, the Grammy performance of this song where she throws her head back while playing the piano is iconic to say the least. Unpopular opinion: I do not enjoy the 10-minute version of this song.
